Drone Operation Speeds Hurricane Relief and Provides Added Job Benefits

Tampa, FL, OCT 10, 2022 –   Drone Cadets LLC along with its partners Dronetech UAS, SkyHound UAS, and Butler Drone Solutions in collaboration with Strategic Response Group (SRP24) deployed to Fort Myers Florida, and surrounding areas to provide aerial support following the hurricane Ian disaster, and much needed job experience to those entering the workforce.

The scope of the operation was to capture aerial imagery for insurance companies to assess the extent of damage to homeowners’ properties. Traditionally, it would take weeks or even months for insurance adjustors to assess the damage and issue a proper claim. Today, the utilization of drones allow for that process to be expedited and provides much-needed hope for those families that are affected by the Hurricane.

This drone operation gave an opportunity for one student to gain some much-needed experience in disaster relief operations. Drone Cadets along with its partners are members of the Aerial Systems Group International (ASGI) consortium developed a career pathway pipeline that provides educational courses and curriculum to anyone starting, as young as eight years old. The opportunity to enter the drone industry, comes at the end of the pipeline as students are given the opportunity to deploy to real-world operations like this one.

One of the students for this operation is Faustino “Tino” Taguja of Florida, who trained within the pipeline and was called to duty this past Saturday, and he was more than happy to assist. Tino was able to service 10 families over the weekend, by collecting over 100 images and videos to send off to be analyzed. To those families, this means that help is on its way. To Tino, it proves how much of a difference his newfound skill can make.
